21^st September

During Spring Holiday Club some of the children at YMCA St Paul’s OSHC had their very first experience of Bollywood and other children used this day to celebrate and share many parts of their Indian culture with us. We heard children’s personal adventures and experiences to India: some very exciting stories about the Taj Mahal, Mumbai Gate and Diwali; “Festival of Lights”. We were lucky enough to see some women’s and men’s traditional dress; the Saris and Kurta.   We were told about the many languages that are spoken in India depending on what part of India you are from, we even learnt how to say hello in Hindi "Namasté” .

5^th July

If you’d walked into YMCA Upper Mt Gravatt OSHC during Winter Holiday Club you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d slipped through a strange space dimension. The children had a ball creating masks and costumes inspired by their favourite space movies. They also let their imagination run wild when asked to make aliens and space creatures.

And the Oscar goes to… YMCA Camira OSHC for staging a terrific day of glamour and celebrity. There were red carpet photo opportunities, a celebrity trivia challenge, an awards presentation and of course an after party that included a disco.
