St Paul's supports Canteen

YMCA St Paul’s OSHC children and staff celebrated National Bandana Day on Friday 28th October this year with a special afternoon tea in which our school community were invited too.  We had visits from our school principals, teachers and families.  Along with our afternoon tea we also sold bandanas, pens and badges; we were lucky enough to raise $161 that will go towards sick children who are living with cancer.  We hope our money will help Canteen support, develop and empower young people living with cancer!

Sausages for Springfield Lakes

YMCA Springfield Lakes OSHC recently held a BBQ fundraiser.  All involved reported that it was a successful and enjoyable day.  Staff found that spending time with families outside of the service, drenched with the smell of hundreds of sausages created enormous smiles and laughter.  Many of the children contributed by purchasing a sausage and drink or making a donation as did staff from neighbouring YMCA OSHC services..  A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes to those parents would gave their time to help with planning and on the day actually cooking and selling - THANK YOU!

I asked him 20 minutes earlier if he was having a good time and he told me he was apart from not catching a fish – after he reeled up the fish he came told me he was ‘happy now”. We had a walk along the boardwalk in drizzly rain but the children loved it – we saw bush turkeys fossicking in the wet leaves. We came back to the centre early and had hot Milo all round and settled in to watch a movie but all had a great day J

Is that Roald Dahl at Albany Creek?

rdday28th September

YMCA Albany Creek OSHC had a splendiferous time during Spring Holiday Club. The children made Crispy Wasp Stings on a piece of Buttered Toast, Bruce Bogtrotter’s Cake (the one in Matilda) and then washed it down with ‘green’ Peach Juice. It was all so scrumdiddlytumptious. The children also made roly poly birds from The Twits and rounded off the day watching Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
