Springfield Lakes goes Pink again

YMCA Springfield Lakes OSHC continued their support of Pink Ribbon Day again this year.  The staff and children should be very proud of their commitment to raising awareness of such issues.  Springfield Lakes OSHC held a special breakfast for families and made pink treats for visitors to take with them.  Through selling raffle tickets the service raised in excess of $150 this year!  We're proud of you YMCA Springfield Lakes OSHC and we're sure the Pink Ribbon organisers are too.

It's raining, it's pouring...

All YMCA OSHC services were affected by the recent rain but some more so than others.  YMCA Albany Creek, Strathpine and Virginia services braved the wild weather to get some photos of the storm.

Springfield cooks for Dogtober

YMCA Springfield Lakes OSHC raised their awareness of the RSPCA by celebrating Dogtober on the last day of Spring Holiday Club.  Among other activities the children baked and decorated dog cupcakes.  The cupcakes look very yummy but we'd like to know why there's a very conspicuous gap on the tray...  With such scrumptious treats we can imagine it would be very hard to wait until the photos were finished!

Rochedale South's Community

When YMCA Rochedale South OSHC doesn't wander out into the community they invite the community in to see them! During Spring Holiday Club the service had a visit from Constable Jacob Flaherty who popped in and said hi to the children.  The children and staff were able to ask questions and learn about the importance of making ‘right choices’.  The children were lucky enough to be hand cuffed, wear bullet proof clothing and got to sit in the police car!  A big thank you to the Rochedale South Police Beat for their generosity and time!

Visitors at Upper Mt Gravatt

Not only did YMCA Upper Mt Gravatt have a fantastic time participating in activities this Holiday Club they also enjoyed some amazing visitors.  On the 28th Gobbledock Sports staff taught the children (and service Coordinator) some Hip Hop dance moves.  Then on the 29th September two local police officers visited the service to help the children with their 'Dazzling Detective' day.  What great additions to an already fun filled program!
